How to clean chopping boards

The antibacterial properties of lemon juice stop the growth of germs and microorganisms, and its bleaching agent naturally lifts stains, leaving the board not only clean but sanitised.

Lemon juice is also excellent for removing odours from chopping boards. Juice a lemon after slicing it in half, then massage the cut edges of the juiced lemon all over the cutting board. The board should then be cleaned using lemon juice and a fresh microfiber cloth. Wait until the odours and stains start to diminish before letting the solution settle. The lemon can be applied to stubborn stains and left on overnight before being rinsed off the next morning with warm water.
